Dunshaughlin GAA stalwart wins €275,000 house
Dunshaughlin GAA stalwart Paddy O'Dwyer has won the first of three brand new 3-bed semi detached homes in the Meath GAA Royal House Draws.
Paddy was contacted by MC Brendan Cummins immediately after his winning ticket was pulled from the drum during the draw held in Navan Town Centre this afternoon (Saturday) and said he was "in shock" at the win.
"I've never won anything in all my life, it's only sinking in," said the father of five who added that he had no idea what he was going to do with his new property in Cois Glaisin, Navan.
Meath County Board chairman Peter O'Halloran pulled the winning ticket in the presence of independent observers, Garda Tony O'Brien, and Fr Declan Hurley as well Meath manager Andy McEntee and a number of the Meath men's senior panel.

The Meath GAA ‘Royal House Draw’ in association with Glenveagh Properties, will see two further draws take place over the next 15 months with a new three bed semi-detached home valued at €275K to be won in each case.

The draw for the first home – at Cois Glaisin in south Navan also saw a number of cash prizes from €1,000 to €10,000 won.
Speaking ahead of the draws Peter O’Halloran, Chairman of Meath GAA described the redevelopment of Páirc Tailteann as a vital project for the county and he said he hoped it would be supported by Meath people at home and abroad.
“This is the first time we have ever organised this type of fundraiser and we are delighted to partner with Glenveagh Properties on it. We are looking to maintain that momentum for the duration of the project and to building a new stadium which everyone can be proud of. “
Justin Bickle, CEO of Glenveagh Properties said that the GAA is the heartbeat of local communities and that was key to the company’s involvement.
“Meath GAA needs to provide their players and supporters with a modern fully equipped stadium and that is the goal of this fundraiser. As a company which is also building and fostering communities in Meath, we are delighted to support this initiative from our developments in the county.”
Meath senior star Donal Keogan said that the overhaul of Pairc Tailteann would be really welcomed by all the players and who it would benefit generations of young Meath footballers and hurlers of the future.
